Applying your decal to a surface!
Whether you've purchased a decal from my store or are diving into the creative world of decal application and looking to add a personal touch to your belongings, you're in the right place. I'm here to make decal application a breeze for you! Let's get started with some easy-to-follow instructions.
We'll have those decals looking top-notch in no time! 🌟
There are a couple of general rules to follow to begin with:
- Install the decal in temperatures between 10 °C and 32°C.
- Clean the application surface thoroughly!
- Apply the decal from one corner, working away from you to avoid air bubbles.
- Use a card to fix minor air bubbles.
Let's get started!
You will need:
- Alcohol wipe
- Decal
- Transfer Sheet (clear sticky sheet
- Credit card or bank card - I mean...anything that can scrape really!
- Patience
1. Clean application surface:
If you've ordered your decal through me - use the alcohol wipe.
Wipe down the surface that you plan on putting your decal on make sure to clean any grime, dirt, grease, dust, or anything that will prevent the decal from fully sticking and wait for it to dry!
2. Apply Clear Transfer Tape:
The Transfer tape goes over the top of the decal to allow for easy transferring - in some cases the transfer tape may have already been applied. Start by peeling the paper backing off the transfer tape and carefully stick the tape over the top of your decal. Once you have aligned the transfer tape and the decal - use a card or squeegee to flatten your decal to the tape.
Tip: Start in the short corners and press along the sticker as you go. For larger decals - you may need two people!
3. Remove Backing Paper From Decal:
Peel off the backing of the decal - The decal should stick to the transfer tape!
Tip: If you are finding that the decal isn't peeling off the backing paper flip the decal face down and press the backing away from you while peeling.
4. Line up your decal and press:
Carefully line up and place your decal on your surface. Press it to ensure that the decal completely sticks to your surface!
5. Smooth Decal:
Use a credit card or squeegee over the top of the transfer sheet to smooth the decal to the surface.
6. Remove clear transfer sheet:
Carefully peel away the transfer sheet from the decal!
Tip: If the decal comes off with the clear sheet continue to use the credit card to ensure the decal is stuck! Using your dominant hand, hold the card at a 45-degree angle.
Double Tip!: If the design is not sticking to the surface - use a card or squeegee to flatten your decal to the tape!
Triple Tip!!: If you are finding that the decal STILL isn't sticking apply pressure to the decal and tap and peel the transfer tape away from you while peeling.
